Wrap label text
In an activity diagram text quickly can become larger than the swimlane.
I would suggest to enable text wrap when resizing an action smaller than it's text. Currently resizing only works if the action is larger than it's text.8 votesAvailable at 2.0.0-beta6

Drawing and annotating on separate layer
A feature that allows drawing with typical annotation-tool ( lines, arrows, boxes, text, freehand ) on top of any diagram would be very useful while developing and brainstorming/collaborating on a solution.
It could be implemented on a completely separate graphics layer with no added complexity in terms of connectivity to the diagram elements.
It would just need to scale along with the diagram layer.Currently I use StarUML for generating the diagram, then export to pdf and use PDF-viewer to annotate the diagram. Would be fantastic if StarUML supported this directly.

Richtext support for documentation
A bit more text formatting options, such as, for example, underlined, italic, bold, bulleted lists or the color of the text, would be very helpful for pointing out certain critically parts. Also it could be used directly to generate nice looking documentations (e.g. HTML, PDF or DOC) as suggested in other feature requests.

Zoom window for big diagrams
It would be great if there was a small zoom window showing the whole diagram and the currently visible area. You should be able to drag the visible area around to move to other areas of the diagram without zooming out and in again

DPI Scaling awareness (Windows 8/8.1/10)
Implement DPI Awareness
http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ms701681(v=vs.85).aspxThis will enable better user experience on Windows 8 based devices (such as the surface range).
Without DPI Scaling awareness the application will appear blurry with Windows display scaling enabled (for some this must be turned on).7 votesAvailable since v2.4.0

Need feature to add relationships to diagram, when relationship is already defined in model
For example:
- draw the relationship line then select already existing relationship.
- slect relationship in model browser and drop it on diagram - should show all related elements (classes, use-cases, etc).
- select element (class) then select some context menu item "add all related elements".6 votesAvailable at 2.0.0-beta6

Export diagrams menu
I think there is no reason for the Export Diagram option to be on the Diagram menu. First place I went to when I wanted to export was File (there actually has an Export option there). I think only one option at this submenu would suffice (something like File > Export > Current diagram) and having the desired format selected on the save dialog. On the current menu options I'm punished for wanting to changing my mind and I even have to type the expected extension for the file or it's created without one.
I'd go as far as to…

Better use of colour
It's great to finally use StarUML on a Mac.
But I think the mostly dark UI is not that great. I'm missing a bit more of colour on the tool bar icons and on the Explorer window. StarUML 1 was sure more colourful but without excess. And it was great looking native on Windows. I'd love to have that same feeling with the Mac version. I would suggest that maybe a different approach for the UI would be better for the Mac, perhaps some layout (and colours!) like on Pixelmator would feel great.
5 votesNow StarUML 2.0.1 becomes more colorful. We don’t know how you satisfied. Anyway, this feature will be marked as completed. If you have more suggestions on colours, please leave more ideas in detail. Thank you.

Improve Properties Editing
When I edit the properties for attributes, I naturally click "tab" to move to the next property for edit.
"Tab" is not working properly in such context.

Change the diagram editor background color
We can change the diagram background color, but not the editor background color. This is by far my biggest complaint with the tool and the one thing holding my team back from adopting it.
To be clear, I'm referring to the area of the tool with the grid background. The one that displays all of your diagrams.
5 votesHi,
This issue has been resolved in the new StarUML V4.
Thanks,

Moving elements backwards and forwards
It would be nice if we could actually move elements to the background and foreground.
For example: I'm creating a diagram. I'm almost done.. but I would like to seperate the diagram by putting elements in some rectangles. I will drag rectangles to the playground and I would like those rectangles behind all existing elements.
At the moment a new element appears on top of others and I can't change the "z-index" ;)4 votes -
Fix validation error: Conflict with inherited operations
When a class realizes an interface and the method is copied from the interface to the class validation fails with "Conflict with inherited operations".

Allow users to set stereotype display in preferences
I don't often use icons, especially for interfaces. It's time consuming to have to manually change the display for each interface.
