Simply structure of "Block"
Simply structure of "BLOCK"
I would like to create BDD and IBD (SysML)
I added all blocks in a BDD and defined hierarchial relationship with "Composition" in order to structural view of overall systems and generate IBD of blocks to define releationship of the same level blocks.
Since hierarchial relationship were defined at the BDD, I drag blokcs from model eleprorer and drop them on the IBD expecting it would refer to the existing block but the automatically generated Parts
In the meantime, When i created parts under the blocks and tried to drag&drop them on the BDD i could…

sweeper and magnet
The sweeper will move the model elements away in the vertical or horizontal direction.
While the magnet will attract the model elements in the vertical or horizontal direction, this will help everyone to interact better with the diagram.1 vote -
Bring back diagram explorer
This feature was included in the original StarUML and was quite useful to quickly get a list of diagrams of a given type.
It also would be nice to provide the Model Explorer with the capability of filtering elements (just like the old StarUML).

isFinalRealization for methods
The program implements the ability to specify a class with a final implementation (isFinalRealization), but the same possibility should be in any method.

Entity Relationship Model: add FK, N, U to the key pop up menu
When creating a ERD, if I want to set a field as Foreign Key, Null or Unique I have to select the field, go down and select the option on the editor section.
It would be better if one could just click on the key pop up menu and select it.

Export and import diagrams in Mermaid format
https://mermaid.js.org/ - this format is supported by many wikies, and is text based .
Being able to export in this format, allows good integration with the environment, and allows the diagrams to be styled by the wiki.
importing them back-in to the system allows updating of the code for the wiki diagram, and then updating the uml diagrams..

XMI Import - Canonical XMI
The interoperability of XMI between tools was always an issue. OMG tried to address this with tighter rules for the 'Canonical XMI'.
Many UML tools are now able to import models expressed in Canonical XMI. It would be great if Staruml could do this as well.
Canonical XMI is described in the Annex B of the documentation of 'XML Metadata Interchange" at https://www.omg.org/spec/XMI/.Furthermore, it would make sense to update the namespaces of UML and XMI to more recent acknowledged versions.
An ideal solution would be that the XMI export of Staruml also follows the rules of Canonical XMI.…

Auto save
Allow Auto Saving of the model vs recovering some backed up version when I restart it.
The effort is to try and avoid losing work but when I want to open Model A and it recovers Model B now I have to go find that location and save the recovered document. Of course it could have been a while sense I was on that document. Why not just auto save and spare me the trouble?

Focus on newly created items
When a new item is created by dbl-click on an existing item and selecting the new item from the sub-menu, the focus remains at the existing item. Normally one would want to add text to the new items like ID, name, description. But you have to dbl-click on the new item.
My change request would be that the new item text shall be selected after creation so I can immediately start editing.1 vote -

Drop source file = reverse engeneer
Feature: If supported source file (C# interested the most) is dropped with the mouse to the model explorer or directly to class-diagram then it is automatically reverse-engineered and added to the diagram.

Swim lanes to support Cross functional flowcharts
Flowchart is a basic connectors for representing the call flow. However i see the existing flowchart template is missing the concept of swim lanes.
Cross functional flowcharts use swim lanes to provide an extra dimension by assigning each process step to a category. Most often the category is a stakeholder (person, role, or department).

allow for user-defined tags to be assigned to model elements so that you build display filters based on those tags...
Imagine being able to assigned user-defined tags to model elements and then filter those model elements in a diagram by creating an expression based upon tags. These tags could represent anything you want like subsystems, user roles, sprints, you name it. This was an ability of the old OOATool from Object International back in the late 1980's.
